The rules for using foodlarder.com. They protect you as a reader, and they protect the work published here.
About these Terms
These Terms of Use (“Terms”) apply to your use of foodlarder.com, its newsletter and any other service that links to these Terms (together, the “Site”). The Site is operated by Walid LF (“Foodlarder”, “we”, “us” or “our”).
By using the Site you agree to these Terms, to our Privacy Policy and to our Disclaimer, which form part of these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site.
Who can use the Site
The Site is intended for adults. You must be at least 13 years old to use it, and at least 16 to subscribe to the newsletter or post comments if you live in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom. If you are under 18, please use the Site with a parent or guardian.
Changes to the Site and these Terms
We may change, suspend or stop any part of the Site at any time. We may also update these Terms, and the date at the top shows the latest version. Changes apply from the date they are published, and continuing to use the Site afterwards means you accept them. For significant changes, we will make reasonable efforts to give notice, for example on the Site or by email to newsletter subscribers.
Our content and how you may use it
All content on the Site, including text, recipes as written, photographs, graphics, logos, the Foodlarder name and the design of the Site, is owned by Walid LF or used with permission, and is protected by copyright, trademark and other laws.
You may
Read and print content for your own personal, non-commercial use.
Share a link to any page, on social media or anywhere else.
Share one photograph from a post, with clear credit to Foodlarder and a direct link to the original post, unless the post says otherwise.
Make a recipe at home and describe the result in your own words.
You may not, without our written permission
Republish whole posts, recipes as written, or substantial parts of them, on another website, in print, in a video or in an app.
Use our photographs beyond the single-photo sharing above, edit them, remove credits, or present them as your own.
Use our content, including by automated scraping, to train, develop or improve artificial intelligence or machine learning systems, or to build a competing database or service.
Use the Foodlarder name or logo in a way that suggests we endorse you, your business or your products.

Comments and things you send us
If you post a comment, send a message, or share a photo or tip with us (“your content”), you keep ownership of it. You give Foodlarder a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to publish, edit for length and clarity, and display your content on the Site and in the newsletter, with or without your name. We will not use your name or photo to endorse a product without your permission.
You are responsible for your content. You confirm that you have the right to share it and that it does not break these Terms. Comments are moderated. We may edit, refuse or remove any content at our discretion, and we are not responsible for content posted by others.
Acceptable use
When using the Site, you agree not to:
Post anything unlawful, harmful, threatening, abusive, harassing, defamatory, obscene, hateful or discriminatory.
Post spam, advertising, or promotional links without permission.
Share other people’s personal information, or impersonate anyone.
Give food safety advice you know to be dangerous or misleading.
Upload viruses or harmful code, or try to gain unauthorised access to the Site, its servers or its accounts.
Scrape, crawl or copy the Site with automated tools, other than search engines that follow our robots.txt file, or place an unreasonable load on the Site.
Use the Site in any way that breaks the law.
Newsletter
If you subscribe to The Sunday Shelf, we will email you as described when you sign up. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in every email. The Privacy Policy explains how we handle your email address.
Food safety and reliance on content
Content on the Site is general information, not professional advice, and food safety depends on conditions we cannot see. Before relying on any content, read the Disclaimer, which forms part of these Terms. You are responsible for how you store, prepare and eat food, and for checking official food safety guidance.
Affiliate links, ads and other websites
The Site contains links to other websites, including affiliate links and advertising. We do not control those websites and are not responsible for their content, products, services or privacy practices. Any purchase you make from another business is between you and that business. We may earn commissions or advertising revenue, as explained in the Disclaimer.
Copyright complaints
We respect the intellectual property of others. If you believe material on the Site infringes your copyright, email info@foodlarder.com with:
Your name and contact details.
A description of the copyrighted work you believe has been infringed.
The web address of the material on the Site.
A statement that you believe in good faith that the use is not authorised by the copyright owner, its agent or the law.
A statement, under penalty of perjury, that the information in your notice is accurate and that you are the copyright owner or authorised to act for the owner.
Your physical or electronic signature.
We review notices promptly and remove or disable access to material where appropriate.
No warranties
The Site and all content are provided “as is” and “as available”. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we make no warranties of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of accuracy, completeness, fitness for a particular purpose or non-infringement, or that the Site will be uninterrupted, secure or free of errors or harmful components.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Foodlarder and Walid LF will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, for any loss of profits, data or goodwill, or for any illness, injury or property damage, arising from or related to your use of, or inability to use, the Site or its content, even if we have been told such damages are possible.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim relating to the Site is limited to one hundred US dollars (US$100).
Some places do not allow certain limitations, so some of these may not apply to you. Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot be excluded or limited by law.
Indemnity
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Foodlarder and Walid LF against any claims, losses, damages and costs, including reasonable legal fees, arising from content you post, your breach of these Terms, or your violation of any law or anyone else’s rights.
Suspension and termination
We may suspend or end your access to all or part of the Site, remove your content, or block your comments if we reasonably believe you have broken these Terms. Sections that by their nature should continue, including ownership, disclaimers, limitation of liability, indemnity and governing law, continue to apply.
Governing law and disputes
These Terms, and any dispute arising from them or from your use of the Site, are governed by the laws of the United States of America and of the state in which the operator of Foodlarder resides, without regard to conflict of law rules.
If you have a concern, please contact us first at info@foodlarder.com, and we will try to resolve it informally within 30 days. If we cannot, any dispute will be resolved in the state or federal courts serving the county and state in which the operator of Foodlarder resides, and you and we consent to the personal jurisdiction of those courts.
If you are a consumer living in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or another country whose laws give you the right to bring proceedings in your local courts or to rely on mandatory local consumer protections, nothing in these Terms takes away those rights.
General
Entire agreement. These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy and Disclaimer, are the whole agreement between you and us about the Site.
Severability. If any part of these Terms is found unenforceable, the rest remains in effect.
No waiver. If we do not enforce a right straight away, we do not give it up.
Transfer. We may transfer our rights and obligations under these Terms, for example if the Site is sold. You may not transfer yours without our consent.
Language. These Terms are written in English. If they are translated, the English version applies.
